How come michael jackson never supported his invincible album?

Question: How come michael jackson never supported his invincible album?

(Posted by: ...y on 2010-07-30 03:06:51)

I'm wondering even after Sony like with his this is it tour he didn't do any of the songs from that album besides a snippet from speechless and kinda a thriller/ threatened version of threatened but still a snippet to. but he never supported it he always went with all his old songs. did Michael have control over the songs he was gonna do on his tours. and how come he didn't go to another record company other then Sony to do albums? i know he did go to two seas but i mean like other record labels why didn't he go there? and how come he didn't support invincible i wanna know mmore how come he didnt support it in his this is it tour

I read somewhere that MJ didn't want to tour to support the album, much to the record company's chagrin. Plus I think this was the start of the deterioration with the record label.

Critics were harsh towards him on that album and felt like it was one of his least outstanding albums but it did do better over in other countries than over here. I really don't know why people felt that way because I liked the album but I guess they always expected him to make more of the interesting music that people were use to from him. This album was good but it did have alot of slow more mature songs and it was more r &b than pop music. So, I guess he just dropped trying to support it.

Just before the release of Invincible, Jackson informed the head of Sony Tommy Mottola he was leaving the record label. As a result, all singles releases, video shootings and promotions concerning the Invincible album were cancelled. Sony disputed claims that they had failed to promote Invincible with sufficient energy, maintaining that Jackson refused to tour in the United States. The singer accused Sony and the record industry of racism, deliberately not promoting or actively working against promotion of his album. There was no This Is It tour. He died!
